Joe Santagata

CEO

Joe is a hands-on, data-driven lifetime learner. He thrives on discovery, exploration, and ultimately, mastery.  He started learning about the flooring installation business at the age of 14, installing carpeting on summer breaks, then selling flooring at a large retailer before ultimately working full-time for his father in 1992. Having an adaptable, relatable, and affable personality served him well as he joined the family business in 1992 and began transforming the business from the bottom up, giving it much-needed structure. By 2008, it would become very clear that the  company was much more than a way to “make a living” for him and his employees, it was a way to “make a life.”  He then started to carefully and purposefully turn a predominantly paper-based and decentralized organization into one that had measurable KPI’s, metrics, rigor, discipline, and accountability—both internally and externally.  He did this within the context of the four Core Values he developed with his team: Say Yes, Own It, We Care, and Do What You Say. In the spirit of continuing his learning journey, Joe now sits on the board at The Young Presidents Organization’s (YPO) NJ Chapter, and has implemented EOS® within ACS’s processes and procedures for sustainable organizational growth and health.

ACS has been voted the Home Depot’s Service Provider of the Year in 2020 in the N. Division for the second year in a row, and overall 2020 Best Service Provider, all categories. Despite the company’s incredible growth and expansion (geographic, HD stores supported, type of flooring, etc.), ACS is still a family-owned and operated business. When Joe is not focused on how to make ACS and its employees better, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and sampling good wine–and sometimes, all at the same time!
