Full Charge Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant

We are seeking to enhance our greatness in the accounting / finance department with the addition of a Full Charge Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant. Our goal is to streamline current processes, automate antiquated procedures and create a forward-thinking and efficient team. We are currently seeking an individual who has a diverse accounting background and enjoys being a change agent.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work part of each week from their home, based on a schedule still to be developed.

Summary/Objective

Assist with automating the current manual AP processes and utilize integrated bill paying systems. Assist Controller with full cycle accounting duties, month end close, while ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.

Responsibilities will include:

Traditional AP processes – being incorporated through an automated and manual AP bill paying platform.

Set up and maintain vendors – acquiring appropriate documentation including contact information and W-9 forms.

Analyze accounts payable and select vendors for prompt payment.

Purchase Order maintenance.

Manage distribution and maintenance of EZ pass account.

Manage company vehicle files including all lease/loan documents, registrations, insurance, vehicle maintenance, including schedules of vehicle payments due and remaining.

Maintain, report and update all vendor contracts.

Special ad hoc projects requested by management.

Must be flexible and open to perform some administrative duties.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

Minimum Associate accounting degree
5 years’ experience in accounting- bookkeeping
Preferred experience with Bill Pay platforms
Intermediate Excel Required (i.e. Pivot Tables)
QuickBooks software accounting experience
Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail, analytical and research skills
